‘Now That I’m Headless’, a poem about the ghost of Mary Queen of Scots, will be published in 2018 by The Emma Press, in their forthcoming anthology for children: ‘The Head That Wears a Crown’ – poems and facts about the Kings and Queens of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
The Emma Press is an independent poetry publisher founded by Emma Wright, formerly of Orion Books. They won the Michael Marks Award for Poetry Pamphlets in 2016 and their poetry anthology for children, Falling Out of the Sky was shortlisted for the 2016 CLiPPA children’s poetry award.
Other happy news: In October 2016 ‘The Hungry Galactic Plughole’ (a poem about a black hole) was published by The Emma Press in ‘Watcher of the Skies’, a new anthology of space and alien themed poems and facts for children. Available in paperback and E-book formats. The E-book edition is only available direct from the Emma Press. Please consider ordering your paperback from your local independent book store to support their business.
2016 – Suzanne’s poem ‘Hiding Under the Cover’ was shortlisted for the National Literacy Trust Poetry Prize 2015 in association with Bloomsbury Children’s Books – publisher of the Harry Potter books.
